ABOUT ELENAS SKETCHES

In th late 80's I started doing the Westmoreland County Fair. Since that time I have won over 100 ribbons, two tropheys & four best of show ribbons.

I also now do about 5 fairs a year. In 1994 I entered an oil painting in a National Compatition for the Arts & Heritage Festival. 2000 entries were submitted and only 50 were accepted. One of them was mine. I did not place but my painting was put on display.

In 1998 I entered some pieces at the Harrold Fair-I won 8 ribbons there.

In 2001 I started entering the Derry Area Fair-so far I have won over 14 ribbons there plus 2 Best of Show Ribbons.



I mainly paint wildlife or just animals in general. I think they are so beautiful & graceful. I paint animals that I wish I could see in person but can only admire from afar.

I really love to paint the big cats as you can tell. I love birds of prey as well. I really do not have a favorite animal. I enjoy them all.

I have never had any formal training in art.  I am all self taught.  I have been drawing for as long as I can remember.  My father is an artist.  He designed two tooms at the Cathedral of Learning in Oakland.  They are the Armanian room & the Jewish room.  His father was an Art Master in Italy.  He sculpted.
